The agreement between Miami-Dade County, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection requires the County to undertake a series of projects, operating and maintenance tasks, and monitoring activities in its wastewater system to reduce and prevent sanitary sewer overflows. By complying with the terms of the Consent Decree, WASD has committed to make improvements to the Wastewater Collection and Treatment System Totaling over $1.9B. As part of the Program Management/Construction Management Team, EAC has provided planning, scheduling, construction management, and inspection personnel.
EAC provided the contract administration, construction management and field inspection services including engineering and construction administration activities. These services occurred during the design, permitting and construction phases of the design contract, with daily on-site inspections, maintaining daily progress logs, coordinating weekly status meetings, reviewing and approving schedules, schedule of values, and other documents as necessary. Scope also included processing and authorizing progress payments including allowance accounts and change orders, reviewing and accepting as built drawings, and utilizing WASD’s project control system to track all documents and activities, and to interface with construction managers and WASD’s staff as needed.
