Project Overview
The project consisted of engineering design, permitting, repairs and improvements to MacDonald, Maloney and Peninsular Avenues in Stock Island. The scope included asphalt overlay, milling and resurfacing, roadway reconstruction, sea level rise analysis, temporary traffic control, signing and pavement markings, drainage improvements, utility coordination and public outreach. A context sensitive complete streets approach included the addition of bicycle lanes, on-street parking, sidewalk repair, installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps and a landscape median. The project also included coordination with FDOT District 6 to obtain construction funding as part of their Small County Outreach Program (SCOP).
