EAC Consulting provided project management and inspections for the MDX 83628 design build project. EAC performed planning and oversight of design and construction engineering and inspection consultant and DB Firm.
The improvements included four continuous through lanes, eastbound auxiliary lanes from NW 57 Avenue to LeJeune Road, Safety and operational improvements at the following interchanges: NW 57th Avenue Interchange, LeJeune Road Interchange and NW 27th Avenue Interchange. Diverging Diamond Interchanges (DDI)were constructed at NW 57 Avenue and NW 27 Avenue. The first DDI’s built in South Florida and the first in an urban environment in Florida. The 83628 shoulders were constructed to serve as Xpress Technology Lanes for express bus service from the Dolphin Station Park and Ride to MIA and downtown Miami.
EAC prepared application for MDX for request for permission experiment from Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for the deployment of red colored bus-on-shoulder lanes on SR 836.
