Project Overview
EAC provided design for the reconstruction of this 1.5-mile segment of the Palmetto Expressway to widen for the implementation of Express Lanes. The existing six-lane divided limited access facility will be widened to accommodate two express lanes and provide auxiliary lanes between the interchanges. A tolling point will be provided within this section and a Single Point Urban Interchange (SPUI) will be provided at NW 67 Ave. The project requires extensive coordination with the adjacent projects, FTE, City of Miami Lakes and Miami-Dade County. The project is the second segment (Segment 2) of six segments that extends the Express Lanes from I-75 to the I-95/Golden Glades Interchange.
