Project Overview
The project’s major scope of work consists of culvert installation, pavement widening construction, milling and resurfacing, utilities adjustment and drainage improvement, and striping. This project mostly runs through residential and commercial areas. Phase I involves striping the eastbound and westbound lanes, and closing both eastbound and westbound inside lanes in order to capture the work area for the installation of the box culvert. This phase also involves installing concrete a barrier wall and performing all work for filling in the canal – which includes relocation of lighting and installation of a box culvert, embankment, stabilized subgrade, base and structural asphalt. Phase 2 involves restriping eastbound and westbound lanes; shifting traffic onto the newly constructed pavement; and closing the outside lanes in order to capture the work area for the curb gutter.

This project was awarded the ASCE Miami Chapter, Category 1, 2020 Project of the Year award.
